Analysis of Earth Tide as Whole Earth Forced Oscillation and Its Computation: Report

Abstract
Study of body tide of the earth is reported. Equation of motion for the body tide is stated and is converted into set of first order differential equations. Love numbers, which are the ratios - one ratio between the tide raising gravity potential due to the moon and the sun and the gravity potential due to the tidal deformation and two other associated ratios - are acquired after then. The procedures to acquire the solution and to calculate the tidal perturbations are concretely described. Direct formulas for the tidal perturbations in other geodetic observables are presented. Finally recent studies of tide are summarized and on-going Korean research is described.
