Image Scanning Method for Vascular Pattern Recognition

Abstract
Vascular pattern is unique to individuals and impossible to counterfeit because vessels are underneath of human skin. Therefore, vascular pattern imaging has been studied for biometric identification. However, it is not easy without additional lens system due to light scattering at human dermis. We propose that the scanning method for imaging vascular pattern can give clear image without using additional lens system. According to simulation results, correlation G between scanned image and reference image confirms that our method indeed gives the high quality image of the vascular pattern. At 2 $\mu$m of scan pixel size, G is about 0.74.
